A bird on the tree...

.. is worth many in the hand.

Place: BHARATPUR

It was an unusual time to go to Bharatpur. However a visit to the sanctuary has been always rewarding for me. The solitude, the flora and fauna, like a visit to any other forest, it is such a blissful getaway. Not just in the negative sense of escaping the city, but also for the sheer joy of being a place of calmness, where nature rules, albeit with some help from activists and forest officials.

This is a view from the main road that leads straight inside the sanctuary. The water, once naturally available but now artificially maintained, is the reason why birds continue to flock here.
